Description
Aminopropyl i-Octyl POSS® is a molecular union of both functional chemistry and inorganic-organic compositions.
APPLICATIONS
Surface energy control, wetting, and emollience. Additionally, dispersion and rheological diluency can be realized in certain formulations.
The reactive Aminopropyl groups aid in cross-linking, while the i-Octyl groups serve as dispersants, plasticizers, and enhance gloss effects. This system provides higher mechanical strengths, dispersions, and temperature stabilities.
COMPATIBILITY
Aminopropyl i-Octyl POSS® is provided in neat form. It is intended to be utilized as an additive. At additive concentrations, compatibility is expected with a wide range of resins and monomers that bear similar chemical functionalities. Compatibility testing is recommended for higher concentrations.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Aminopropyl i-Octyl POSS® is a mixture of cage sizes 8, 10, and 12. The organic groups are randomly distributed around each core of the cage. The molar ratio of Aminopropyl and i-Octyl groups is 1:1.
The distribution of cage size and functionality around the cage core is analogous to that for functional copolymers.
Heteroleptic Cage POSS are represented by the catalog designation HC. The structure shown is idealized and should not be considered an exact representation.
