HC1317.13 – Methyl PEG POSS

Description

Methyl PEG POSS® is a molecular union of both functional chemistry and inorganic-organic compositions.

APPLICATIONS:
Color and Filler dispersions. Additionally, may improve hardness and modulus in glassy coatings.

The non-reactive methyl groups serve to aid in high temperature stability and dispersion through Pi-Pi interactions. The PEG groups serve as dispersants, plasticization, and gloss effects. The HC1317.13 system provides higher mechanical strengths, dispersion, and temperature stability.

COMPATIBILITY
Methyl PEG POSS® is provided in neat form. It is intended to be utilized as an additive. At additive concentrations, compatibility is expected with a wide range of resins and monomers bearing similar chemical functionality. Compatibility testing is recommended for higher concentrations.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Methyl PEG POSS® is a mixture of cage sizes 8, 10, 12. The organic groups are randomly distributed around each cage core. The molar ratio of Methyl and PEG groups is 3:1.
The distribution of cage size and functionality around the cage core is analogous to that for functional copolymers.
Heteroleptic Cage POSS are represented by the catalog designation HC. The structure shown is idealized and should not be considered exact.
